Exercises for a Bodyweight Cardio Workout and Fast Fat Loss

Daily Walking Routine

If you don’t have a gym nearby or just cannot afford the monthly membership right now, you should know that there are bodyweight cardio workouts you can accomplish right at home. For those looking to lose a bit of weight in the New Year, working out up to four times per week is a surefire method to drop the pounds and improve your heart health, amongst other notable benefits.

Don’t Forego Compound Moves

According to personal trainer Nick Rodocoy, who created a series of bodyweight cardio workouts, compound movements challenge your entire body and will help “torch fat.” Compound moves, which are exercises that work for multiple muscle groups at one, work by exercising multiple muscle groups at the same time. The more muscles involved, the more work your body is completing and the more calories you burn off.

There are numerous reasons to add in such workouts, besides convenience. For example, giving your body a rest from heavy lifting or trying to switch up the exercise program you’ve become accustomed to can do wonders for the body. Bulking does not excel at improving your muscles and joints in a comfortable manner. Low impact work, however, brings about results.

Notable Examples

A few prime examples of compound move workouts include squats, plank to push-ups, leg raises, jump lunges, and side-lying holds. These are not vigorous workouts, though they do improve heart health and drop body fat quickly.

The key to any exercise, however, is to start slow. You do not want to push yourself and tear a muscle, which will put you out of commission for the foreseeable future. The idea with any bodyweight cardio workout is to increase the exercises slowly.
