Education & Support Groups for Heart Patients
If you have experienced a cardiovascular event, or have heart disease, taking part in an education and support group can greatly improve your recovery. Our cardiac support groups serve as safe environments where you can discuss your fears, challenges, goals, accomplishments and more. Brookhaven Heart support groups aren’t just for cardiac patients – we encourage you to invite friends and family members who would like to learn more about ways to support you and cope with the situation.
Choosing the Right Group
Our Cardiac Outreach program provides lessons and screening for a variety of groups. We can provide information tailored to your group’s specific needs. If you would like more information, please contact our coordinator.
Our Healthy Hearts program offers free educational classes to patients and their families. Over the course of six sessions, offered four times a year, the Healthy Hearts program provides recommendations and guidelines from the American Heart Association as a prevention tool for heart disease.
We also offer online education and support groups, which allow you to talk with other patients in a variety of locations. These individuals can relate to the challenges and frustrations you are experiencing.
